来自 Air cargo world的消息说,UPS将其在菲律宾克拉克机场的亚太转运中心迁移到深圳机场,并且于2010年运营。而此前的FedEx,已将其在菲律宾苏比克湾的亚太转运中心迁移到白云机场,并于2008年底全面运营。再加上在香港的DHL,四大航空快递巨头的三家,都分别在我国珠三角的香港、广州、深圳布局了亚太转运中心,显示他们的加大中国市场竞争,争夺中国市场的决心。此前早些时候,人们一直在讨论珠三角机场的竞争问题,然而,现在看来,如果从货运的角度看,究竟是机场的竞争,还是航空快递巨头的竞争?却是值得我们思考的问题。但是,不管怎样,珠三角地区巨大的货运市场与发展机遇却是不争的事实。以2007年为例,三大机场的航空货运吞吐量总计达到500多万吨。尤其重要的是,随着我国对北部湾地区的开发,以及东盟地区的联合、再加上广东省的“9+2”计划,这一地区的航空货运市场将会加速发展,无论是白云机场、深圳机场、还是香港机场,都不愿意放弃这块市场,而航空快递巨头们却恰好落个“顺水人情”,抓住机场的这种心理,讨个好的价钱。
附英文消息:UPS Moves Asian Hub to Shenzhen
UPS said Wednesday it will move its main air hub for Asia from the Philippines to Shenzhen in China‘s industrial southern region, a sign of the rapid change in the economic trading balance in Asia.
While UPS said it would be holding back on certain corporate investments because of rising fuel prices and the weak U.S. economy, the company said it would continue to push forward with its expansion plan for China.
The company’s new intra-Asian hub will be at the Shenzhen airport in southern China, near Hong Kong, slashing at least a day off shipment times-in-transit for Asian customers while boosting service in the manufacturing region immediately to the north.
Expected to go operational in 2010, the new hub is being developed at an estimated cost of about $180 million.
